We have had a pretty good afternoon.
My sister Laura from Santa Maria California called a church here in Iowa and asked someone to come and pray with us. A very nice man, Pastor Don McGarvey from First Assembly in Cedar Rapids came and prayed for Seth and me and over this hospital room. He is spiritually sensitive and confirmed what I had been feeling yesterday. He said he would probably be back and perhaps one of the pastoral care pastors and the youth pastor may come and check in on us while we are here. Thanks Laura, we enjoyed him being here, and FEEL a lot better.
The Pain management doctors came at noon and took out the epidural and now in about an hour the foley will be removed. PLEASE pray for the bleeding in Seth's stomach is is worse. We need to get that NG tube out and the sore in his stomach HEALED. This has all happened because of the suction tuber in Seth's stomach that keeps hitting against the lining and thus causing the sore. The med's have slowed or stopped the area from clotting. Same thing with the catheter.
If they take the NG and Seth gets nauseated or starts to vomit, they would have to put it back in. That would be HORRIBLE to have it done with Seth conscience.
He says his stomach is hurting, I'm sure it is from the NG.
Well all for now. See ya, Vic

i love ya'll and have a scripture for you to declare and stand on...
Psalms 92:12 - 15
(Amplified Bible)
12 … The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].
13… Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14… [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].
15… [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Seth still has a lot to do and a lot of fruit to bring forth... so i pray for wholeness and stregth and a holy, righteous resolve in Jesus' Truth/Word
love ya'll

Hi guys,
We will be praying for your stomach sore to heal, Seth! Also, that you will be able to eat soon. I'm sure the minutes seem like hours to you all right now, but remember that God is moving and there is light at the end of this tunnel!
We are thinking about you!
Vic, Mom says "Hi" and she has been praying non-stop!

Hi Guys,
I'm so glad that someone came to pray with you!! It has to be hard to be so far from everyone that you are close to...it is good to know that there are faith filled Believers that care enough to reach out to others that need help and encouragement. Yeah, Church! Will be praying for Seth's stomach to heal and for revelation & wisdom for his medical team.
Love you,
Laura
I realize there's another Laura here so I'll add my last initial here in a moment. That's great that these prayers are working. :) Hopefully this bleeding will stop. Man.. just let him know that I've read his story and can really understand what it's like to be this age and not know what is going to happen next, good or bad, and the depression and anxiety that comes along with it.
Tell him to keep his chin up. Everything is alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end. That's what's been getting me through this.
Still praying
Laura P
This is something both you and Seth might be interested in. Nardin and I are both on it (it's actually how I met Nardin), and I have found it to be one of the most helpful resources since my diagnosis. It's a Teens With Crohn's/Colitis message board. It's a great place ask questions about medicines, hospitals, sypmtoms, you name it. You can also post your stories, experiences, and give advise, or just update on how you're doing. There's also a fun "offtopicness" section that is great for getting your mind off of crohn's/UC. This site is a great way to help patients and parents alike feel like they're not alone in what they're experiencing. There are also plenty of moms there, too, who would love to meet more parents of kids with crohn's. Here's the link if you're interested:

I hope he finds this site useful. It's very welcoming, safe, and a great place to meet people dealing with the same problems.
Laura
*sorry for spamming your blog!*
One more thing, the website does say just "Teens With Crohn's" but it's open to anybody with any digestive disease/problem. There are some people there with bad IBS, gall-bladder disease, UC, and crohn's alike. :)
*I just know some people who see the "teens with crohn's" and feel unwelcomed.. but that's totaly not the case! There's one girl there who's extremely smart and grew up with severe UC. She's a wonder of help..*
Hey Laura P! I'm Laura P, too. To avoid confusion, I'll just sign my posts "Aunt Laura." Thanks for checking out Seth's blog and caring enough to comment. Your encouragement is welcomed. Forwarding prayer requests would be great, too.
Blessing,
Aunt Laura
